Next Steps

A concluding session of the Alberta and the West Assembly will be held late in October or early November, after the results of Alberta’s October 19th referendum are known and evaluated.

Delegates and those registering for updates on our website – albertaandthewest.ca will be provide with additional files and information intended to “inform their discretion” regarding the various options facing Alberta and the West re: our future relationship with the Canadian federation and federal government.

Delegates and advisors will be consulted, and an AI assistant will be used to mine the Alberta and the West database in order to generate various propositions concerning “the best path forward” for Alberta and the West.

These propositions will be put forward at the final session of the Assembly to be examined, debated, possibly amended, and voted upon.

Approved recommendations as to ”the best path forward” will then be submitted to the legislatures and governments of the western provinces for consideration and follow up.
